February Day To Serve

Help Denver youth build the confidence to succeed! Clothing can make a difference!

Join MPB teacher leader, Tricia Godfrey, as we sort clothing to help kids feel special.
Friday, Feb 28
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

A warm coat, shoes that fit and a wardrobe of school clothing helps children and youth put their best foot forward every day.

The mission of Clothes To Kids of Denver is to provide new and quality used clothing to students from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro Area, free of charge.

Volunteering: Clothes To Kids of Denver needs your time, enthusiasm and expertise to keep our organization running. The boutique is almost entirely volunteer operated, so your involvement is an essential component in allowing Clothes to Kids to provide clothing to students in our community.

Clothes to Kids is conveniently located next to the Chez Artiste Theatre at 2890 S. Colorado Blvd. Unit M-3. Denver, CO 80222 Sign up and more information: https://tinyurl.com/Day2ServeFeb20

LENTEN MORNING OF REFLECTION

The Winter Name of God: How Suffering Shapes a Life of Faith
Saturday, February 29th, 8:30-11:30am in the RCIA Room
Presenter:  Kathy McGovern

In this retreat, Kathy will speak to the winters of our lives, those seasons of spiritual or physical suffering that change us, challenge us, and can, through grace, draw us into closer communion with Christ and all who suffer around the world. How has suffering drawn you closer to the winter name of God?

RSVP to attend or contact for questions: Christine in the parish office or cmaschka@mpbdenver.org.  We hope you will join us!

MPB Members Honor Martin Luther King

Members of the Faith and Racial Equity Class honored Martin Luther King by joining various celebrations in the area. Some members attended the Martin Luther King Marade at City Park and heard moving speeches and calls to oppose inequity which is ever present. Another group of participants attended the Peace and Justice Mass at Cure dArs Catholic Church. Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodriguez celebrated the Mass and inspired all by challenging us to fight racism which is a sin against God.

The Faith and Racial Equity class is in the fourth week of the 8-week course and has proved to be enlightening as we explore power and privilege.
