Safe Outdoor Space at Regis University
In these rapidly changing times, more people are without housing due to COVID-19 impacts, job layoffs, evictions, and other pre-COVID challenges. Unhoused people are finding it difficult to locate accessible, housing and shelter options. To meet this growing need, Denver’s service organizations; St Francis Center along with Colorado Village Collaborative, are offering a full spectrum of housing and sheltering options in neighborhoods across the city, including a brand new option at Regis University.
How can you help lift up those who are facing homelessness?
MPB Justice Matters is organizing a meal train to provide healthy meals at the Regis location . Our first meal will be a lunch provided on Monday June 28. Many opportunities are available from bringing food items, to assembling sandwiches, to delivering the meal, to serving the meal. Something for everyone! Please check out the opportunities and sign up at: tinyurl.com/SOSJune

Generosity of Joseph Honors Award from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet
Sarah Jackson, founder of Denver’s Casa de Paz (House of Peace), will receive the Generosity of Joseph Honors Award from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Many at MPB are associated with the Sisters and Peg Connolly nominated Sarah. Casa de Paz is a hospitality home for immigrants recently released from detention and immigrant families. MPB has supported Casa and many have volunteered at Casa through the years. The award celebrates those who positively influence and contribute to the betterment of society and whose example encourages others.
