The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), paragraph 1666, says, “The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. For this reason, the family home is rightly called ‘the domestic church,’ a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.”

To help form these ‘domestic churches,’ FAITH is Most Precious Blood’s family-based religious education program. It is designed for all parish families with children in Pre-K through 5th grade. These families strive to grow in holiness through their relationship with Jesus Christ as Catholic Christians, together with other Most Precious Blood families.

FAITH is a mandatory component of the sacramental preparation process for children who do not attend Catholic school; however, families with children who are preparing for sacraments and attending a Catholic school are strongly encouraged to participate.

How does it work?

For 2024-2025, we will continue using a resource published by Sophia Institute Press, Family of Faith.  Last year, we studied the second pillar of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) with Volume 2: The Sacraments. This year we continue with the second pillar of the CCC in Family of Faith Volume 3: Life in Christ. It is not necessary to have completed Volume 2 to begin Volume 3.

These materials include a Parent Guide and Student Activity books geared to a variety of ages. Families who are new to FAITH this year will receive a copy of the Catechism and a Bible as well.

From October through April, parents will meet on the first Wednesday of the month for large group instruction (catechesis) and small group sharing on the theme and focus of the month. This will help them guide and instruct their children.

Families will gather as a group one Sunday per month for group activities that reinforce the lessons and bring everyone together for a meal and fellowship. Please see the calendar below for details. The days and times vary each month
