Join Us at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Youth Group
Are you a high school student looking for a place to explore your Catholic faith, ask questions, and build genuine friendships? We’d love for you to be part of our community.
When: Every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: Parish Center Youth Room
Our youth group brings together over 20 high school students from schools including Our Lady of Victory, Machebeuf, John Paul the Great, Hinkley, Regis and homeschoolers. Whether you’re from a public school, private school, or learning at home, you’ll belong here. Guided by our team of 11 dedicated core team members, we strive to create a space where everyone feels they belong and can consider what God is doing in our lives. We appreciate the unique perspectives each person brings.
Optional Spiritual Opportunities Before Youth Group
If it fits your schedule, there are additional spiritual activities available on Wednesdays:
- Adoration: The church is open for Eucharistic Adoration from 9:00 AM to 5:25 PM. This is a peaceful time to pray and reflect in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
- Confessions: Available from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, offering an opportunity for reconciliation.
- Mass: Join us for Mass from 5:30 PM to 6:10 PM.
These optional activities can enrich your spiritual life and provide a deeper connection before our youth group meeting.
Optional Dinner Before Youth Group
Before our meetings, there’s an optional dinner at 6:00 PM for parents, siblings, and youth group high schoolers. This is a great opportunity to relax and share a meal together, especially if you’re coming straight from school or sports. We ask for a $6 donation per person to help cover the costs.
- To sign up and receive the menu, text DINNER to 84576.
- This will also allow you to conveniently contribute towards the community meals.
Approximately 80 young adults, parishioners, and families join us for this dinner each week. The youth group members often eat together, fostering a sense of community before our evening activities begin.
What We Do
Our gatherings offer a mix of activities aimed at deepening our faith and building community. These include:
- Lectio Divina: We practice this traditional method of scripture reading, meditation, and prayer to foster a deeper connection with God’s Word.
- In-Depth Teachings: We delve into various topics relevant to our lives as young Catholics, aiming to understand our faith more fully.
- Adoration: We spend time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, offering prayers and reflections.
- Games and Activities: Both competitive and team-building games help us get to know each other better and have some fun.
Leadership and Guidance
We’re fortunate to have Fr. Daniel, our pastor, regularly involved with our youth group. He believes that spending time with young people helps make the priest more approachable and shows that youth play a vital role in the Church. His presence adds depth to our gatherings and makes our community feel more connected.
We also have two seminarians from St. John Vianney Seminary, Max Rich and Riley Helgoe, who take turns offering relevant teachings. They bring fresh insights that resonate with our experiences as young Catholics today.
No matter where you are on your faith journey—whether you’re a cradle Catholic, a neophyte, questioning who God is, or just starting to consider your own personal walk with Jesus—you are welcome here. We aim to create an atmosphere where you can be yourself, ask questions, and find support among friends.
After you’ve visited a few times, we encourage you to commit to regular attendance—as your schedule with sports and studies allows. This helps us build a community where we support each other and grow together spiritually. Your presence truly matters to all of us.
Regular attendance helps us:
- Build deeper friendships.
- Support each other through life’s ups and downs
- Grow together in our faith.
- Plan events knowing we’ll have a consistent group.
- Imitate the early Church in a communal atmosphere.
Feel free to bring a friend or come on your own. Either way, we look forward to meeting you.
