Martha volunteers provide and serve a meal for families following a Funeral Mass at MPB. Teams of volunteers are asked to provide a side dish or dessert, help with set up, serving, and/or clean up. This ministry is a wonderful comfort to families grieving the death of a loved one.

The Martha’s Ministry is comprised of parish volunteers who donate their time and resources to assist those planning for a funeral of a loved one by preparing and serving the food at the reception. Volunteers are assigned to one of our six teams that rotate being on call. The receptions are held in our Parish Center following the Funeral Mass. You may volunteer for food preparations which is usually a light meal such as meat trays, casseroles, salads, soups, desserts and beverage or you can help set up for the reception — decorate tables, lay out food, or assist with the clean-up.

As a volunteer, you may choose to be part of the set up or clean up, or if time or job prevents your being present at the reception, you may choose to be part of the food preparation. Dishes may be dropped off at the parish center or the parish office.

The wonderful benefits of being a Martha are meeting and working with fellow parishioners, serving those who are experiencing the loss of a loved one, and the opportunity to spread God’s love to those who are grieving.

Please contact the Parish Office at 303.756.3083 or contact@mpbdenver.org if you would like more information or to sign up for a team.
